Mozilla recently conducted a survey of eight thousand people – consumers feel they have lost control of their digital lives.
The findings of the survey conducted by yougov.com are clear: users are frustrated and feel powerless. Rewarded Interest addresses this directly by letting consumers take back control of online tracking.
The Reality: A Web Without Choice
Users are fed up with their data being taken without their informed consent:
Only 16% of people feel in control of their privacy choices.
47% are frustrated by Big Tech tracking their data without asking (a figure that rises to 55% in the U.S.).
38% are frustrated by Big Tech using their data to train AI without permission.
This is why, when asked for their “strongest expression of independence online”, choosing not to share their data was a top three response across all countries surveyed.
The message is unmistakable: users want agency, and they want a better deal.
Rewarded Interest: Reclaiming Your Power (and Your Share)
The core problem, as the Mozilla blog post states, is that "choice and control have slipped from our hands." Rewarded Interest is a free browser extension that is built to put that control directly back where it belongs—with you.
1. Control Your Consent, Automatically
Skip the Hassle: Say goodbye to confusing and manipulative cookie banners and consent dialogs. Rewarded Interest automates setting your consent preferences, making your browsing experience seamless.
Set Your Rules Once: Simply select your consent choices one time during setup. Your preferences are then automatically applied as you browse, so you decide which companies can identify you and what they can do. This directly addresses the 84% of people who feel out of control.
2. Get Compensated for Your Value
The current system is a one-way street: your data for their profit. Rewarded Interest flips the model into a two-way exchange:
Earn a Share: When enough people join Rewarded Interest, you can earn Rewards. Specifically, you can get 5% of what companies spend to personalize the ads you see. We just need enough users that it’s an audience advertisers can’t ignore.
A Fairer Deal: This isn’t replacing what websites use to make money. There are zero additional ads. Rewarded Interest does not ask for any additional data. It’s about being compensated for the use of your data that they already have.
Join the Movement to Demand a Better Web
You don't have to settle for a web that feels like it belongs to Big Tech. Just like choosing your browser is an important decision, choosing how your data is used is a fundamental act of digital independence. Tools such as Rewarded Interest can help.
Stop giving your data away for free. Start earning your fair share and enjoying a better, fairer web experience.
